PAL or NTSC??

i feel a difference between pal and ntsc footages but i can t explain it. it s not only the difference in resolution, the size/ratio of the image or the frame rate. people look more squeezed verticaly on ntsc footages. am i right? NTSC seems more filmic.
do somebody ever tried to shoot the same subject with 2 cams (pal and ntsc)?
 
I don't know what the difference is exactly, but allot of the BBC programing in the the states looks different.
 
maybe it's because with the slightly lower res of ntsc the edges are not as crisp on tv. and crispness is usually a signature of digital...
