PAL is always progressive?

[monster]

I need to buy a very comact camera. I would like to shoot progressive if possible. My videos are for the web so I don't need it to be in NTSC.

So would getting a PAL camera be what I am looking for? Are PAL cameras all progressive?

Re: PAL is always progressive?

PAL is not progressive video, so no, almost NO PAL cameras are progressive, they're all 50i. The DVX and the XL2 both provide 25fps progressive video in the PAL format.

well if its going to the webb maybe it doesnt need to be progressive. Just show it at half res and its gonna be in 25p.
