PAL GH1/GH13 TIPS, SETTINGS & HELP ONLY PLEASE


OWN A PAL GH1/GH13? HAVE ADVICE TO GIVE?

i thought it might be nice to see information specific to the PAL model collated into one post.

PLEASE POST HERE FOR ALL THE PAL USERS OUT THERE

Good idea.
First tip I have to save some time, don't even spend one second over pulldown ... it is irrelevant if you have a PAL GH1.
To any GH1 new user, the biggest problem of workflow is the AVCHD codec. I find my dual core laptop with Sony Vegas Pro 9 edits 1080p and 720p reasonably, but with problems of preview lag, and hence accuracy. 720p responds better than 1080p and reasonably fault less, however, in line with GH13 Mb testing, expect any GH1 1080p clips with a lot of tree/bushes detail to lock up Vegas. Whether this is the fault of Vegas or my laptop is yet to be confirmed. MJPG files still cause problems, so I avoid using it.

Convert to cineform files, Vegas loves it, no lockups.
