Pal Cameras In Usa.

Hi, Im trying to buy a new hvx200 PAL in Usa lands, but my dealer told me they didnt arrived yet there, that Pana is not delivering this model.
At B&H they're accepting orders. but still no sign of them.
Does anyone knows how is that happens?

I have a related question.

I live in Europe but will be in LA very soon and am intending to buy an PAL hvx, and realise that this will be very difficult in that city.

My choice is to either buy from a gray retailer or from B+H, which I would much prefer to do. However B+H will not send to an address other than the billing one which means that I will not be able to have them send it to my friends in LA. So I either have to fly from LA to NY return or buy from a gray retailer.

So my question is:

If I buy from B+H, their regular warranty will only be for the US, right?

(So I will need to buy additional cover eg mack to cover me in Europe)

In which case what is the difference, if I live in Europe and want to buy from a US retailer, between buying from a gray retailer and buying from B+H as neither will cover me for using the hvx in europe. Is this correct?

In other words do I gain anything warranty wise from buying from B+H if I spend all my time in Europe, and if anything went wrong with the camera I presumably would either have to send back to B+H or to panasonic servce centre in the US? (I am not asking about other benefits such as manual, accessories, us customer care etc)



Please also can someone confirm that B+H are the only authorised US PAL hvx retailer?

This is all of course assuming that B+H will get them in stock!

As to why I don't buy in Europe, well there is a 1,000 dollar minimum difference, and often more, which I need to go towards P2 etc.

LOL, no I wouldn't! :)
It's been available at B&H for well over a month now, although they did sell out a few weeks back, they've been in stock again for about 10 days.
Oh, and it appears they have more than one unit at this time.
