well...im a little afraid to post this, my first post of actual footage. :embarasse

Im working on the media and marketing of a new paintball field in MI. The website is finally posted, still undergoing construction and such. Last night i posted a small clip as a teaser for the upcoming season that starts in a couple months.

its 15MB, WMV file, nothing special. Editing is very basic.

Let me know what I could do to spice this up. Starting mid-april, there will be clips like this every week posted, so im just looking for critisism.

Nicely done!

If I'd need to criticise, I might suggest to hold off with the music until there's action. Currently we start with hearing fast paced music, but we only see some guys just anticipating action. There's a mismatch therefore. Although this can be done so effectively, it doesn't work well the way you have it cut right now. (This just refers to the beginning.)
I guess you are lucky as the subject is quite "forgiving"; you can get away with the blurry, out of focus, shaky cam stuff.
So all-in-all, nicely done!

I can understand why you would want to be hand holding the camera under these circumstances but you might want to practice keeping that camera steady. Since this is marketing a paintball field, the vid could use some more shots of the field, but since this was just the teaser you probably have a lot more shots of the field. Lastly....you hung a little long on some shots, specifically the ones through the slats. Otherwise it's looks like you're on the right track with some nice shots and good editing.

One little thing.... about the 1:30 mark there is a shot that is left on the screen for too long(10-15sec). I would cut it down.

thanks for the comments and help. I took out the slow motion at the end, and it keeps the flow going much better. im glad to see there wasnt a lot of posts with negative. Speaking of...

Since there was 100 some views and only 3 posts, i would like to thank the people who keep this message board runningthe right way, the ones who when they use up someones bandwith when they view something, they leave a comment and feedback. Its the only way this message board will survive. so for those who left me a comment, i'll be sure to look for your work when its posted.

I think you should have shown more of the field, someone getting hit, maybe some actual splats. You could have shot the camera using a piece of plexiglass as a shield. More overviews, high angle work, less of the guy blasting away at the towers.

But Future User, it's hard to guerrilla shoot, especially paintball!

Good video, for what you had to work with.

cool

cool

Looks really cool! If you wanted some critique I would say lay off the zoom. It makes the footage look digital.
