hi,

ijust uploaded all my cards to the my main cpu from the p2 store. they all appear on my desktop as "no name" on my desktop. I tried dragging and dropping to finalcut pro . a pop up nenu tells me to ( please choose a trnslation document file) what now thanks,

oh yeah,

Could someone tell me how to format or (delete) everything on my p2 store, I have a mac and the p2 store only came with pc instructions.

I tries poking a that little hole with a paperclip , i think isuppose to be holding down 3 buttons down too maybe? I dunno , thanks everyone
 
Don't drag and drop. Go to file- import- Panasonic P2. A dialog box will appear... follow the path to your contents file. Double click the contents file then select open. The files will show up in a dialog box asking if out want to import one or all the files. Make your selection and the files will appear in your FCP brower.

You have the right idea for erasing the hard drive. Push the little button with a paper clip, then push the "start" button at the same time. Mine tends to take a couple of tries to get going.

I actually been filming in sd on tapes because i cant figure this p2 store out.I tried the paper clip/ start deal. No luck. Maybe i gotta dud? is there anyway of knowing when the p2 is finished formatted or emptied?Thanks again,Rook
 
i just tried again "paperclip/ starbutton " held for 2 minutes the 20 40 60 80 100% let up orange an flashed like 4 times. put a card in held down start to upload the p2c and hdd flashed, red error button came on. E3 button is red and E4 is flashing red. Im confusedThankyou pros,rook

This may seem like a dumb question, but have you have an instruction manual and have you actually read it? All the answers you seek are there. It's not the clearest writing but it's all there.
 
yesterday i took my p2 store back. The technician took about an hour trying to format it. Finally got it working. I downloaded 3 cards while shooting a little music video for an artist. I connected the usb.Power was on.I can see the "no name" cards on my desktop.Went to file import, Panasonic p2.Only problemis , the import screen wont pop up. So ,i hooked up the hvx200 w/firewire downloaded a couple card that way.Im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.I have some really good footage in that p2store. Before i took the p2store back, I had no problem dumping the 15 cards from the p2store on the macpro.maybe i have to fill it all the way up ,before i can dump the files again?
 
hello to all,i just donloaded footage to idvd.so i know the footage is there.But why wont the window pop up , so i can "import all in final cut pro"
 
Maybe you have it all figured out by now, but your procedure for formatting the P2 seems odd--not what the manual says to do. Try pushing the button with a paper clip for four seconds. The lights will flash and then press the start button. You can format it any time you want.

Oh, and I have problems getting my P2 store to work with my powerhouse computer. I have to use my laptop or another computer here on site.

I actually formatted the p2 store.

I have 5 cards stuck on it.

Hooked up the usb to the cpu.

Desktop show me the 5 "no names' on the desktop - so i know they are there

FCP wont let me download the footage so i can edit it
 
try copying your footage from the P2 store to another folder on your HD.
then try importing into FCP.
And use firewire to connect the P2 store to your mac.
 
took the p2 back .editor had the same problem pulling up the menu.

Rebooting his g5 corrected the problem.
 
i restarted the macpro with the p2 store connected, just like the editor

informed me. did not work for me. 5 cards are still stuck on my p2 store

he told me if that didnt work to get internet, and update my settings.

iguess thats the next step.
 
for some odd reason , my p2 store works on every g5 except mine,

went to the apple store to downloaded footage, put it on a cd
