How much is the transfer time for consolidating p2 files when using Avid editing application on a windows platform?

Consolidation is a copy process. So quite fast.

DV25 4 1 1 resolution, PAL 25 frames/sec-System spec -HPXW 8000 workstation with Intel Xeon 2.8 gighz dual processor -1 GB ram.

Haven't timed exactly, but I'm guessing around 5 times realtime. Depends also on the interface you're using: internal pcmcia-slot or usb connection.

And it's not just a simple copy process: copying the files using the P2 Viewer or Windows Explorer is faster than consolidating. usb P2 drive to usb external drive at about 3x realtime consolidating, and 5x copying. No idea why consolidating is slower, because in essence, it is just copying.
