p2 viewer

This is embarrassing. I still cant' get my p2 viewer to work and can't find any directions. I can get it to play with the card in the camera, but that's it. I understand you're supposed to create a virtual p2 card with the p2 viewer but how do you do it? I can't find any help in the help menu or on the panasonic website. (I know what you all must be thinking.... if the poor guy can't even do that, what's he doing with an hvx200. I've been wondering that myself.) thanks

Maybe you just need to set the camera to work in the firewire host mode in the PC Mode menu?

-At the top( file - edit - view- ...), click on 'Tool', then 'Setting Virtual P2 cards'
-In the new window, look at the icons at the top. Click on the first one ( the square one, before the red cross), and select a folder.
-At the top again, click on 'View', then on 'Show Secondary BIN' and 'All virtual P2 cards'.

You now have a split window, with hopefully at the top your real P2 card, and at the bottom your virtual ones. You can drag and drop to copy from one window to the other.

To select a different ( virtual) card, RIGHT-click on the green label at the top of the windows.

I got it. Thanks much guys for taking the time to walk me through it. As soon as I clicked on folder 1, (a p2 genie created folder) they opened up. What confused me is I thought I had to create some kind of partition my self for each p2 card. Thanks again for the help

OK, we can see the contents of the viewer... now how do we get it to play?

click on a clip and press play...like the good old fashioned vcr..!
