p2 versus tape

I'm going to be buying an HVX in the next couple weeks, but won't be able to afford a couple p2 cards for another couple months...

I was just curious, quality wise, how big of a difference is there between the p2 and filming to Tape?
 
Well you can only record DV to tape, vs DVCPRO50 or DVCPROHD to P2....so its safe to say the quality is much better when using P2.... (unless your shooting DV to P2, anyway...)
