P2 to AVCHD

P2 to AVCHD

I have downloaded the trial software, but unfortunately what I am trying to test requires purchasing the product. I am a bit hesistant in purchasing, after reading most of the tutorials. None of the tutorials mention the software being able to handle any sort of P2 clips.

This conversion I am seeking would also require the software to accept the 720p/60 format.

Probably won't accept P2 as input. You'd have to render out of Avid in a more common format (avi or mov, probably) and then use Nero to export that as an AVCHD file.

I did a 1080/24p quicktime movie over to AVCHD; I can't see why it wouldn't support a 720/60p file too. Problem is, I can't remember exactly which program I used to do the conversion. I'm pretty sure it was Nero...

StaxRip can do it, though it doesn't have an AVCHD preset (you'd have to create one matching the AVCHD specs, which pretty closely follow Blu-ray specs).

Additionally, you can use MultiAVCHD which offers somewhat less configuration for the codec, but it has a similar function to Nero in that it creates a file/folder structure for AVCHD on a flash card or disc.

Good luck.

Okay, I'm pretty sure that would work. Unfortunately I am looking for something as a quick turn-around, compressing sequences quickly for ftp delivery. I usually only have 1-2 hrs to go in this order:

P2-to-AVCHD, send AVCHD to FTP, end user download and convert AVCHD back to P2 for broadcast.

I am guessing that my best solution is the HMR-10, converting in realtime.

Thanks for all the help!
