P2 store

I was just going to order a P2 store, but was told that it does not come with any power cord. The cord was $150.
Can someone verify this, and explain?

Yeah, but you have to be able to charge the battery right?

I was thinking of keeping it attatched to the laptop or desktop and plugged in.
Transfer my cards to the drive after every capture

I may be wrong but I think they are the same battery as the HVX-200. The model number of the battery is strikingly similar to that of the HVX . . . (or DVX or Jarred's DVXUser battery). Don't want to start a rumor -- this is just a guess on my part, would need to verify it.

edit: just checked B&H's website . . . uses same battery--charge off your camera battery charger. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...s&Q=&sku=413447&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

It seems the cord you mentioned for $150 is not just a cord but the AG-B15 battery charger/AC power adapter that is one of the accesories for the P2 store. The question for me then is there another charger/adapter work thats cheaper like the old DVX or a Lenmar since the batteries are the same.

You can either use an HVX/DVX battery or AC adapter. I'm using the P2 Store with 8GB cards and the workflow is pretty slick. If you decide to use this combination be sure to upgrade the flash software to the latest version on Panasonics support site and, if you are using the P2 Store with a Mac, you will also need to perform a secret ceremony to switch the P2 Store into Mac mode. This involves holding the CANCEL, HDD, and BATTERY buttons simultaneously while saying three Hail Mary's and sacrificing a virgin.

Even though I've only had the HVX200 and P2 Store for a few days, I have been absolutely amazed at how much faster shoot to edit workflow has become.

The AC adapter and battery that ship with the HVX200 work perfectly well on the store. You don't have to buy anything else unless you want to. (And, yes, it is slick as hell and easy to use.)

But I could not charge a battery, and use the p2 store (unless I were using the battery, that i want to charge) at the same time.

Thats when i would need ANOTHER power supply, that cost me $150...seems like the p2 store should come with it's own source of power/ charger. Especially for the price.

Lately, I have been sounding like a complainer, but not meaning to.

I guess they figured that out in the field very few people would be using the AC adapter, most everyone would be running off of batterys that were juiced up the night before.

But you are correct, it would have been nice to have one included. Or at least lower the price.

I am seriously considering buying one of these. I had bought a laptop instead, but am really using it for business. The P2 store is sounding more and more like the way to go. Especially since I will be renting the equipment out as well.

You could if you had extra batteries (which would work in the P2 Store, HVX, and DVX). There's a pretty nice deal right here at DVXUser . . . you could get two monster sized batteries for about the same price as the power supply, charge 'em the night before and perhaps "save your bacon" by having spares for the camera as well as the P2 Store, no?

I bought two last Autumn and they last forever -- highly recommended!
