Okay,
So I'm looking for any real-world input on workflow using the P2 Store and P2 cards on a busy reality set.
We're bringing HVX into the mix on number eight of a twenty-four episode commitment, so having all my ducks in a row is more important than if I were starting from scratch on a new program.
Our Current Workflow:
In a typical day, each of our cameras (usually 2 DVX100a, with 2 lipsticks to Panasonic MiniDV 525i) shoots head to tail on up to four 64 minute tapes (4 hours). So, at least eight tapes a day with another one or two from the lipsticks.
These are labeled but not formally logged on location.
PRODUCTION NAME
15MAR06 TAPE 1
OPERATOR NAME
DESCRIPTION
The tapes are hand batched into FCP for the edit. Simple, right? If we decide to bring the show up to 720pn (currently shoot setting 5, 24p on DVX100a), how should we envision workflow?
We don't have a Logger/PA or formal Camera Asst. on this set, so the operator must ostensibly be able to manage the movement of P2 to the P2 Store. I believe this necessitates multiple cards - the two 4GB ENG P2 card package won't likely suffice.
Thanks for any insight!
