AJ-PCS060 - getting this error - (disk insertion) the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.

This unit is not mine, and it was mounting, then i formatted it by with paper-click and hitting start. Now it won't mount.

Are you using a Mac or a PC? Make sure you have the P2 Store in the proper recognition mode..whether PC or Mac.

Hey Jim, thank you for the tip. I'm on a mac and yes i have it in the mac mode. It was working fine till i formatted it.

If i open disk utility i can see the Matshita drive with the 16 partitions that make up the P2 store.

Anyway else experienced this problem.

Aloha from Hawaii.

Hello...
has anybody solved this Problem already? I have exactly the same Problem and I just can't find the solution!
Thank you.

so i was having the same problem. after applying a little scientific method, i copied some footage from a card to the newly formatted p2 store, and voila, it showed up when i mounted the p2 store on my snow leopard running mac.

my theory is that somehow, the allocation tables needed for the mac to recognize the drive are not created until some data is written to the p2 store. therefore, opening a freshly formatted drive will yield the error.

Can you specify the "scientific method" used? My reader used to work fine. I just tried it after not working with it for a while and now I get the message described by OP. SO, how do you copy footage to the p2 store when its not showing up on the desktop?
