p2 status logger problems?

i can't seem to get it to function - it won't even launch...just a quick bounce in the dock and that's it.

macbook pro 2.6ghz intel core 2 duo/10.5.8/4 GB 667 mhz

hpx300

(not to mention how dodgy the PASS site is to begin with....not good panasonic.)
 
I have my HPX300 in order and will probably receive it in 4 weeks time. So what kind of updates (besides the flashband compensation) do I need to install on the HPX300 right out of the box? What other downloads of software do I need from the Panasonic site if I use FCP 7 ? What can you do with the P2 status logger, do you have a link to the down load site? Also a direct link to the registration page would be nice. You already solved all these things for me :-)
