I applyed for the p2 card and book through the link to Panasonic...I pumped my email in there and they never sent me a confirmation as to when I would be receiving it....Do I just wait for it to arrive or do they sen dsomthing via email?

That happened to me too, I got somehow the phone number of the rebate offices called up and left a message twice, sounded to me like a one person operation the only thing they told me when they called me back is my confirmation number and that it would take 4 to 6 weeks.
It sounds to me like they bother emailing just when you are not eligible, so in this case I would say no news is Good news.

Cheers

I've just received 3 snail-mails requesting my original invoices because something about date of manufacture. What does this mean? Either I brought them within the requested timeframe or not, the should know exactly based on the serial #s. Anybody has received the same?

Yes, I received 2 copies of that letter yesterday. I suppose our serial #'s indicate a manufacture date before 10/01. But as long as you bought it in the timeframe you should be fine. Since the P2 card isn't cheap, I'm sure they want to be absolutely sure before they start sending out cards to everyone who requested them.

Got one too, looks like most everyone is getting them. The letter came from Memphis, I'm in Nashville so maybe my return letter will get there quickly and hopefully the card and book will be sent out right away. Only being able to use DV tape is rough!

Is it possible to apply for the P2 card, before actually receiving the camera?

My invoice from spec-comm included a serial number. The rebate form also asked for the model number found on the viewfinder. Are these model numbers somehow unique to each camera, or are they just some generic AG-HVX200 number. The exact model number to be used on the form would be greatly appreciated.

You should wait and put the model number from the VF of your camera. Putting in what someone else thinks is the right number could get you audited, so just be patient and work the program with you camera.

Best,

Jan

Return Original Receipt?

Return Original Receipt?

I got a letter as well, requesting my original receipt to verify my purchase date. Of course I shall make a copy of it before I send it, but I'd like the original back. If I sent a self-addressed stamped envelope, will they send it back?

Wondering.

Absolutely.

Jan,

I purchased an HVX last Tuesday. I went to the website to claim by free P2 card and book today, but the P2 card has been removed from the rebate.

My question is: Should I still fill out the rebate form that is up for the book to claim my P2 card? Will filling out the form for the book nullify my attempt to claim a P2 card or is the form still tied to both even though there is no mention of the P2 card any more?

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Wow! I just saw this too! Is the P2 offer still good? I ordered last week as well getting my camera tomorrow! Please let us know! Thanks

Yes, I ordered my HVX last Wednesday and the P2 card rebate was a deciding factor in my purchase. Please let us know!

Thanks

Greg

I think I already know the answer, but I'll ask it nonetheless:

The rebate is good until Dec. 31st. If one orders a camera next week (before the 31st), but doesn't receive it until after the first of the year, they can still get the deal, correct?

Normally, rebates list a deadline for buying the product, and a different deadline for actually claiming it. Since I've only seen Dec. 31st listed as a cutoff point, I want to be sure...

I bought my HVX from Spec Comm in Sept, i just found about about the free P2 rebate and feel slightly burned by Panasonic.....
