P2 problem...unable to play clip

Has anyone had this happen yet?

Most of my P2 clips are ok. But occasionally one refuses to play inside the camera. All I know is the file name shows up in red letters. But the other clips that do play show up with names written in black.

Has anyone ran into this problem? You're unable to play a clip on your P2 card inside the camera. You hit the play button and nothing happens. Yet the other clips will play. All I know is that I recorded this clip yesterday and it has a different frame rate. That shouldn't make a difference.

I've had some clips refuse to play inside the camera, yet when you bring them into FCP they play perfectly. What's up with that???

I think that's because the HVX will only play back what the camera is currently set at. So, if you shoot at one setting and then change it and shoot some more, it will only play the current ones and not the ones with the other setting.
If you go back to the original settings then the old ones will play and the new ones will not.
I'm sure Barry can explain it better but that's what's happening.
 
Phew! Thanks! I was scared there was something defective with my P2 card.

What you are saying sounds perfectly logical come to think of it. I hadn't taken that into account. I'd better finishing reading the instruction manual. Thanks again!

Yeah. I found that odd too as I don't know why the settings have to be changed for playback. I'd appreciate it if anyone with some more technical knowladge could explain it to me.
