I am shooting with the HVX200 and dumping my P2 cards in the field via my Laptop PC onto an external firewire drive. When I get back to the studio I transfer the files from the external drive onto the drive of my studio PC edit system equipped with Premier CS3. The footage looks great and Premier seems to handle the MXF file format effortlessly.
I need HELP understanding how to rename the original files from the names given to them by the camera into names that I can understand as I library the footage for future applications. Premier allows me to re-name the files as I work with them in a project but that does NOT rename the files in the original clip folders, it only directs Premier to those files.
I have tried using the Panasonic P2CMS software but it will NOT allow me to re-name the files...that option is always grayed out.
Does anyone have a good solution to re-naming your original files for future use in multiple projects?
