Hi there,

I'm searching for a good software to sort out my P2 rushes. I have Lots of CONTENTS folders that I always put in a specified folder like that:

By example :

Friday 02/05 Bicycle =>-Rushes=>CONTENTS
-Pictures => xxx.jpg
Amazing sunset 02/06 =>-Rushes=> CONTENTS

etc...

I can't get P2CM working I'm on Windows 7 RC 64

Is it a great software to sort out my P2 files and makes great backups?

Thanks a lot...
Quentin

Are you only keeping the contents folder???... You should also keep the LASTCLIP.TXT ...

I have my folders numbered - Stating from D_001 ... the last P2 card was D_674...

I've just archived over 40 hard drives (3 years work)... I'm using a MAC and ended up using DiskCatalogeMaker as the software...

I'm only keeping CONTENTS :( I didn't know that we've got to keep lastclip.txt too. Why do we have to?
I'm searching for a software that able me to view and delete rushes, that I don't need anymore, in fact see/manage/delete mxf files.

Thanks for your answer.

Some software (like FCP) seems to need the LastClip.txt file. It's a good idea to keep it. But if you haven't run into any problems with your footage so far, you probably don't have to worry about it personally. Just keep it going forward.

Its great if everything works but why are you running an OS thats still in beta while handling potentially un-reproducible digital data/footage? Just saying. :beer:

Since P2CMS still isn't supported under Vista, I'm not surprised if there are problems getting it to run under Windows 7.

Same Contents Folder

Same Contents Folder

Does anybody know how to use this software and end up with all your clips in the SAME contents folder??? I have 56 clips on my P2 card and the Panasonice P2 Contents and Managment software created 56 different contents folders. This is NOT what I want. I'm used to my Edius software putting them all in the same folder. How do I do this???

Thanks.

Rich

I have to admit the P2CMS is not the most user friendly software but a bit of reading on the "somehow" helpful instructions will go a long way.
As per your question it looks like you just need to set a sub-folder on the destination tab and select what ever you want it from there (date, other, etc...) all you contents will be added to that specific folder.
