What is your opinion of the software - is it a worthy investment? And for someone using Mac OSX/ FCP 5.1.2? And in regards to repairing damaged clips has that been successful for you or not?
I have all versions of P2 Log including HD Log; it is a very worthwhile investment since it's faster at the transcode process than using FCP 5.1.2 and it doesn't cause the errant corrupt clip as seen a few times in others postings with this problem.
In fact, my workflow regardless what type of shoot is to first use HD Log/P2 Log Pro to convert MXF to Quicktimes then import into FCP. This way I've already created clips native to what FCP wants and don't need all the resources of FCP running to do the transcode. My advice is to absolutely purchase P2 Log Pro; Dan @ Imagine Products is very responsive to any troubleshooting requests and they are constantly updating the software with bug fixes and upgrades.
