P2 is not write protected but AVID says it is?

I'm attempting to write back to a formatted P2 card from Avid Media Composer (Output - Device - P2) but I'm getting a "write protected" error. The card is not write protected. Tried a different card, same thing.
Anyone encountered this problem?

If you are on a Mac, I do not believe support is available to write back to P2.
