P2 Incompatible Card Error - Footage & Card Gone? Help!!!

Hi there,

Ive been using my 16 GB and 32GN P2 cards for some time with my HVX200. I use a MacBook Pro, Final Cut Pro and the Duel Systems adapter (to run the card into the computer). Well I was downloading the 16 GB card and FCP froze up. I mean totally froze up. I could not even force quit the application. So all I could do was turn off the power button. Then when I tried to download again, I could never get the computer to recognize that 16 GB card again. It will recognize the 32 GB card but not the 16 GB card. BTW, I did have the write protect switch on so nothing should have been erased.

So then I try inserting the 16 GB card into the HVX200 and it gives me an "incompatible card" error. It will not even let me format the card.

Is my footage lost? Is my card fried? Is there anything I can do to rescue the footage and format my card?

Can you read the card in P2CMS or P2 viewer? Does the Mac format tool work?

Do you know someone with a Windows laptop who works with P2? You can try to format with that.
 
I talked with Panasonic and they say it sounds like the card is toast, along with my footage. But since it is less than a year old, they do say they will replace it. I sure hope they do.
