P2 Importing Problem

Hey everyone, I shot some footage on a P2 card for the first time the other day and I am trying to import it now. I have the driver installed and I have Final Cut Pro 5. I have the camera connected to my G5 through a firewire cord. I have a USB one too if I need that. The card comes up as an external drive on my computer like I think it is supposed to. But when I try importing it through FCP the thumbnails come up in the window but when I try to import them I get this error message:

"One or mor P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt clips."

I don't think the clips are corrupted as I can view them perfectly in the camera.

Any suggestions? thanks.

What version of final cut are you using? I had that problem and then I upgraded from 5.04 and then to 5.1 that did the trick.
