P2 import issues

shot 3 cards on an HPX170 in DVCPRO HD 720p 30pN.

all 3 of the cards were transferred to a hard drive via the camera. I checked that the lastclip.txt file came over with each card and it appears it did.

I go into log and transfer in FCP (6.06 on OS 10.4.11) and it only will import 2 of the 3 cards. Both of the other cards show up perfectly and I can import the clips and play them back no probs. It basically doesn't see the other card as a card at all.

I've looked inside the folder and there's definitely 28gb worth of media on there. There are tons of mxf files on there it just won't show up in FCP.

I also checked with P2CMS on my mac and it won't see any of the media (or even see any files that it recognizes) on that one card.

Any suggestions as what to do?

I tried loading the files back onto a P2 card to see if I could see them inside the camera but I can't.

Hmmm...doesn't sound super good. Did something happen when you were recording? It could need to be repaired but I don't know of any way of doing that once the card has been formatted. Although I have read somewhere that if you try to put the data back on the P2 card, it needs to be the exact same one. I've never done it. I have run into issues like you mention but have gotten P2CMS to pull off the footage. Have you tried Raylight? Again, haven't used it but have read and heard about it. Hopefully the footage on that card wasn't crucial.

i tried to uncheck the 'advanced pulldown' box but still nothing.

I actually went ahead and imported the mxf files into FCP, matched up the audio and then exported them as a FCP movie. From there I reimported them into my project - everything seems to be working fine... no idea what happened though!
