P2 from PC to Mac

I apologize for my cluelessness, but I haven't gotten the opportunity to work with P2 yet, so I had a question.

I use FCP on my Mac Pro, and I do not have a laptop. But my girlfriend does have a PC laptop with the slot for a P2 card. If I needed to hotswap on a shoot, would I be able to offload the P2 media files onto her PC, bring it home, transfer those files to my Mac, then log and transfer in FCP? If so, would it be any different than using a Mac Powerbook?

it will work fine. to have a cross platform hard drive format it in FAT32. windowz and mac can both read and write to that format. a mac can read a windowz ntfs but can't write to it. and if you get mac drive for windowz you can read and write to a mac formatted drive. you can also network the two together via ethernet(which is supa fast!) check out barry's article here.
