P2 E Series recording time question

Hello, I just purchased a 64 GB E Series P2 card to use with my HVX200... I used the card for the first time this evening but was only able to record for 70 minutes at 720P. I've rented other 64 GB cards P2 cards that recorded 160 minutes at 720P and was wondering why this was the case tonight? I was shooting a live music performance that I was unable to capture in full because of this issue and was hoping someone would be able to help me out with my question. Is there some firmware update that I need to install? Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

I was shooting 720P/24P... done this before with other 64GB P2 cards but I think they were the R series, never had this problem?

youre new here. so i apologize if this question is insulting. but you do know the difference between P and PN right?

as far as i know, the only firmware requirement is for size of cards. not series. im happy to be wrong on that though if anyone wants to correct me ; )

To clarify, It could be one of 2 things. First off, it could be you mistakenly used a different recording format. (p vs pn). The other problem is the cam has an old firmware ver. You need the latest firmware to take full advantage of the E 65gb cards and it may have recognized as a 32. Was the card ful when you offloaded it or half full

You were shooting 24pN in 720 mode when you got 160 minutes of record time on a 64GB card. You were shooting 24P (no N) when you got 70 minutes. The reason for this is that in 24pN, only 24 frames per second are recorded, total. In 24P (no N) mode, each 24p frame is doubled or tripled to pad out the stream to 60 fps, so 60 frames per second are put on the card, 2.5 times as many. Thus, the record time is much shorter.
