P2 Dubbing Problem

I shot seven clips in 480/24p on a P2 card. I'm on a PC right now and I'm having trouble getting them off. When I go to dubbing mode, the clips are RED and I can't seem to figure out how to change the settings so I can dubb them. Any ideas?

Are you trying to capture them through firewire, or copy them through the USB port?

The "red" number implies that the camera is in a mode other than what the clips were shot in. But that would only be relevant if you were trying to play the clips (i.e. for firewire capture) instead of copying them through dubbing mode.

I connected it via firewire to my PC to try to capture the old fashioned way ("F5" on Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0) but the video doesn't capture. Then I connected the USB to my PC, set my hvx to usb device, and transferred the files over in hopes of aspectHDing or raylighting (both trial are versions) the files but that didn't work either. Any suggestions? If you need more information, ask and I'll see what I can do.

All of that should work. If you shot in DV, Premiere should most definitely capture it via firewire. You would need to set the camera's RECORDING SETUP menu to 480/24p and the 480i REC MODE to "DV", then play the clips back from the camera and capture in Premiere. That should (and does) work.

You can also convert the files using Raylight. Haven't tried Cineform, but Raylight will work for DV files AFAIK.
