P2 data giving error message in FCP 5.04

Yo kid my name is Dbaptiste. I just got my camera and have been shooting. I am having a hard time using these files to edit. I use FCP on a G5 and have installed the proper software, but I can not import the files. I try using the Panasonic P2 option and the CPU doesnt even see the camera. I also tried using my Disk Utility and it didnt show up there. I check my cable and it is not that because when I go to log and capture the CPU see the camera and I have logged that way. I AM . I have a 4GB card and the stuff that I have dragged to my hard drive. I can not use it in FCP 5.04 because it does not recognize it. I just spent $7k on this went to all the showcases and it seems like they left out some stuff. PLEASE HELP.

Sounds like your HVX isn't in PC/DUB mode. Make sure in the "other functions" menu you've chosen "1394 Device", and then press and hold the MODE button until it goes to PC/DUB mode.

If you can see the camera in log & capture, that means it's not in PC/DUB mode. In PC/DUB mode it won't show up in log & capture, instead the P2 cards will show up on your desktop as external hard disks.
 
It is still not working when I log into the P2 to transfer. I can not even see it on the desktop. Anyother suggestions.

I tried the thing you suggested and still nothing. Hooked up the camera and it still did not come up. Does it work from the camera or do I need to get a P2 store?
