I have been getting diffrent search results for how fast eth p2 actaully transferres. Basicall i would like to know how fast it can wirte and read data and what is the faster pcmcia can read and write data. Also what is the fastest SD card on teh market what are the speeds of that. From what i have found p2 isnt that much faster than a fast SD even though everyone says it is.
 
P2 max transfer speed is 640mbps you can transfer at anything up to that pending the speed of what you are transferring to and any connection in between.
 
The fastest SD cards transfer at 160 megabits per second. The P2 card uses four of them RAIDed together, which gives it 4x the transfer speed.

Put another way, the fastest SD card handles a 20 megabyte/sec transfer rate. A P2 card has an 80 megabyte/sec transfer rate.
 
Most interesting. I hadn't heard about that, and that link isn't coming up right now... but even so, P2 cards will not likely ever be faster than 133 megabytes per second, because that's the physical limit of the CardBus 32 interface that they use. So a 33-megabyte-per-second SD card would be all you need to get the maximum possible theoretical transfer rate.
