Try "Repair Clip"

Not an option when i go to the menu it s not highlighted ,I also took it to my computer and tried opening it up..... it read "unreadable"...I went intto that menu and it wouldn't let me select the repair option. I inevitably had to reformat the card ..... So my question is in a situation like that is there another way to retrieve footage
