P2 Card troubleshooting

Just wondering if anyone has had to deal with a faulty P2 card yet? It is saying the card is full, but we cannot see the files in the card reader or the camera and thus cannot dowload the files to our computer. Can anyone suggest a way to get the files off the card? Is is best to go to a local camera shop and pay them to do a disk repair or clone or something? Is the card toast? Is there an easy fix somewhere else. We are working with OSX and FCP. I think it's a good sign that it is saying the card is full as opposed to an error sign or something, so i remain hopeful that we can get the info. off somehow. I just don't know how.

My guess is the card is full because of how you emptied it -- the previous contents are probably sitting in the hidden Mac trashcan folder so they can be restored.

If no other clips are in the CONTENTS folder, then the only thing on that card is stuff you previously meant to get rid of, and formatting the card in the camera should get you back to normal.

Ok,

I guess i better be more specific. We dowloaded the first 5 cards without a hitch right into a macbook pro. Then we tried doing it the same way with number 6 and we were able to see the contents folder, but there was nothing inside. However, our virus scanner on the computer was showing the file names that we needed. We tried going to the card reader drive itself and back to the camera with no luck. The camera said the card was full but wouldn't allow us to see the files.

We don't want to erase the card. We want the files that are on it, but invisible...

Btw, what is the hidden Mac trashcan folder. How do I see it? I don't think it relates to my problem, just curious.

correction: we could see the contents folder, the different folders within the contents folder, but nothing inside these folders and no lastclip.txt file...
