P2 card reader for new MacBook Pro 15" ???

As I was just about to buy a new MBP 15" I see they dropped the Express card slot in favor of a SD slot. Old news but a let down.

I have three MBP's in my rentals that go out with camera packages and my current MBP will go into rental as well. The thing is I'm not very comfortable with my personal/business MBP not having anything but USB to download cards if I want.

Are there ANY other solutions out there for FW or something better than USB ???

Panasonic's PCD20 has a FW800 port on it.

Sonnet's QIO connects through e-sata, I don't know if the MBP has e-sata or not.

Hey Barry, thanks for the response! Hope your doing good and as busy as you want to be and NC is treating you well? Vegas hit the official HOT status about two weeks ago and I know you know what that is like.

I am hoping to find a P2 cable / adapter based plug-n-play solution for my new laptop but it's purely a matter of convenience since I will now have four MBPs in rental that either have PCMCIA or Express card slots. It's rare I need to use my personal laptop to ingest media at all but surely as soon as I retire my current MBP to the rental fleet I'll need to ingest on my laptop. There's still the P2 Stores if needed.

The MBP is does not have esata ports on it unless someone has come up with a work-around for the SD card slot and I don't even know if that will work.

I am having the same issue at the moment, saved up for a while to be able to afford the new MBP only to find no express slot!! anyone know if Apple plan to bring this back? it seems with the lack of express slot the MBP is on the edge of not being pro anymore, especially as an sd reader is very cheap and you cant do much with this slot compared to the express,

Hopefully Apple will realize and bring this back on the 15", its still on the 17" but that is a little big,
