I HAVE A OLD APPLE G4 800MHZ QUICKSILVER,I SHOOT ON P2 E-SERIES,COULD I INSTALL A PCMCIA SLOT ON MY G4,DOWN LOAD THE FILES, THEN TRANSFER THE FILES TO MY MAC BOOK PRO RUNNING SNOWLEPARD AND BE ABLE TO USE THEM IN FCP 6.0.6. I ve BEEN USING THE USB-HARDDRIVE METHOD FROM MY HPX300 AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME.I THOUGHT THE GURUS OUT IN DVX LAND MIGHT HAVE SOME KNOWLEGE TO BLESS ME WITH.PEACE.

Are you going to get your hands on a Qio to do some transfer tests, You guys in the "States" have Sonnet in your backyard so I assume that you will be "first" to do some tests..
I'm hoping the Qio may be a "Breakthru" product.

I contacted the PR guy at Sonnet when it was first announced.
e mail him regularly, and other than an initial response, nothing.

I have had contact with them on quite a few occaisions, they were positive indeed with info exchange, But because i'm located "Downunder" that's an issue, worst of all they don't ship here, we locally are at the mercy of the importing agents/dealers, and they load the cost heavily to our US to AUD exchange rate.
I don't mind anyone making a profit to survive, but some imports into our small part of the world border on the ridiculous, and does at times make us not even consider products from other countries.
keep me posted if they contact you, not a great start, and even dates being pushed back over and over is not good either. Oh well, that is nothing new in this P2 environment of ours.
Still I hope and believe that the Qio will be an inovation, even if it's late and Expensive.

If you have a Macbook Pro, why don't you just download the files directly to it using a PCMCIA adapter such as the DuelAdapter?
