P2 card - R series v. A series: whats the diff?

Hey, maybe I was grumpy that day. But a simple Google search on "panasonic p2 cards a-series r-series" provides all the answers very easily... the first ten things that come up all discuss transfer speed differences.

As for "hijacking your thread" - well, as far as I can see, I gave a very precise and fairly complete answer to "what's the diff?". You may find that information useful or not, but it's an important part of "the diff."

Now, "if you hadnt hijacked my thread right out of the gate talking about software, maybe it wouldnt have taken so many questions to get here."... isn't the answer to your question in the first line of my first post? You needed many exchanges to confirm it (when you could've looked it up easily at that point, knowing exactly what to look for), but you had the answer from the start.

Finally... you started out saying you should have done a search but were tired that day... then continued asking simple easily searchable answers over the next day. So, it seemed a little reminder that you could look some of this up yourself might've been in order.

So maybe I was a little grumpy... but really, wgzn, read the thread back, and see what you think... I know from past exchanges that you're a hard-working and dedicated guy... you don't want to project such an image of laziness! I worry about your image.

HAHAHAHA! thats awesome. point made and point taken.

i was lazy. you were snarky. how about we call it a draw and call this topic now concisely answered ; )

I think the P2 card series are as follows:
A (original no letter designation) = 640Mb/s
R (shown on P2 card) = 800mb/s
E (different colour with E shown) = 1.2Mb/s

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Modified:
Thanks Barry, I assumed my unmarked cards were the A series.
I have two P2 cards a 4 and 8 with no letter Symbol on card. I have seen P2 cards on B&H with both R series and A series printed on card. There must have been a earlier card with no symbol. Would that be correct? No maybe depending on the international market location they designated some cards related to that market region. I just bought a 16Gb E series which seems standard internationally as far as markings go. Any one like to clarify any of this.
