P2 card problem

How are you connecting it to the computer, and did you install the drivers, and if using the camera as a card reader have you put it actually into PC mode and not just MCR mode?

I'm in PC Mode and using a firewire. It worked fine yesterday. i've been using the P2 Card and dumping the footage eith no problems. Now it continues to stay on "disconnected" rather than connected.
 
In an effort to rule out the simplest thing first - have you tried a different firewire cable?
Also, are you connecting directly to the computer - or daisy chained through an external drive or anything else?

I've had both of those things cause issue in the past.

If you still can't get it to connect then I would suggest trying to use the USB option on the HVX.
If that works, and the firewire doesn't - then you can at least narrow the problem down to the firewire port on the camera.
 
have you historically followed the correct plug/unplug procedure? - i.e. do you ever plug/unplug the firewire cable with the camera powered on? if so you may have zapped your firewire port.
