P2 card prices

Has anyone heard whether the prices across the board on the e-series cards are going to hold or drop?

I want to get 1 more 32gb or 62gb and about this time last year I bought 2 of the old cards and the next day Panasonic announce the new cards at half the price.

I was fortunate that I didn't open the boxes and B and H took them right back and put me on a waiting list for the new ones.

So I was wondering if any of you have heard and grumblings about this, especially since they seem to be kicking them in along with a rebate for the new owners.

Things like price drops on the cards are never telegraphed ahead of time. About the only thing you could even look at, on a calendar basis, is that the NAB show is coming up next month, and they've announced new cards/pricing at prior NAB shows. That doesn't mean that they will this time, of course; just that there's a chance that if they were gonna make an announcement, it might happen in mid-April, because when they've made prior announcements they've made some of them at NAB.

But not all of them.

So ... yeah, sorry -- nobody knows.

Thanks Barry, that's what I was thinking since it was about NAB time last year when I purchased my camera and current cards.

I'll hold of until after the NAB then, just in case.

Switching gears for 1 second Barry, I have a friend who's interested in the 300 and would like to take the current deals offered but he is wondering if they have an updated version coming in after NAB.

He is leary of the big price drop, I told him I didn't know if there was a new version on the way and to take the deal and smile. He's at least 2 grand up on me since I paid for the camera and cards separately.

Have you heard anything ?

i'm hearing a price increase coming.
it's from a very good source and i can't guarantee that it's going to include the cards, but panasonic will most likely have prices inching up in the near future.
why? i have NO idea.
