P2 card or camera?

I am shooting AVC 100 720p 24PN i/60 in the USA. I did not see this bizarre effect while shooting but it is visible in playback mode and in import. formatted card again and shot with it today with no issues. Wondering if anyone has ever experienced this issue before....trying to understand if it is P2 or camera? Thanks

Wow I have a headache now! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Looks like a card problem to me if you didn't see that in the viewfinder, it must have been a corrupted directory structure which formatting has cleared.

There have been posts elsewhere saying you can just delete clips but as this may not re-set the card directory structure a re-format before use is always the best option!

Those are mixtures of different clips, so there's no way it could be a camera problem. Could be a formatting issue -- or it could be a transfer issue. Which NLE, and how did you bring the clips into your computer?

I was able to view the footage in playback mode on the camera so not an NLE issue. Feeling better that it is a P2 card issue. However, I did reformat the card. Shoot and import. Upon importing I saw that some shots were out of sequence. Never seen that before. Possible the card has issues beyond formatting help.

When you viewed the messed up footage in the camera, was it messed up?

Were the clips in proper sequence in the camera?

While shooting it appeared to be fine. When I looked at it in playback mode it was bad. I do not know if the footage was not in sequence in the camera....oops.

It may sound strange but it might be worth giving the connectors on the card and camera a clean with a suitable contact cleaner as it could be a bad connection when data is sent that has caused the corruption?

That sounds scary! I had an HVX 200 for almost five years and I never did that? The HPX is new to me and I just can not decide if I should try and send it back or not? Still within my 30 day purchase. New card as well.

id certainly soot a BUNCH of test footage between now and then. attempting to replicate the problem...

In the playback menu of the hpx theres a fix clip setting... i dont know if thats the exact name but check it out and try that and see if that works... I havent had an issue with mine personally, but the guys I bought it off of said something like this happend to him 2-3 times and he did that, and it fixed the problem. Good luck
