p2 card error

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere on here i tried to search previous posts but found nothing related to this problem.

i am getting the following card error on one of my 16GB P2's "direct entry NG card"

I can still record to the card and can dump the footage and all is good however i cant interval record onto that card.

Bizarre

Should i just reformat? i cant even trace back to how it occured?

Any help or experience with this would be much appreciated.
 
ver. 4.06. it is a new camera and was set up with 16GB cards from the beginning it has been out on shoots every day for the last 3 weeks and about day 15 this problem started
 
Reformat the card? Absolutely, you can do that anytime, doesn't do any harm, just make sure you save whatever might be on there that you wish to keep on a computer, P2 Store, or external hard drive.
 
maybe a dumb question but can that be done "in camera" in the thumbnail view screen - operation - format?? or do i need to reload the firmware?
 
Yes. MCR mode (thumbnail screen) operation, format, choose slot, and yes... That will format the card.

You might check the panny site and make sure you have the absolute latest version of the firmware. I can't remember off the top of my head if 4.06 is the latest or not.

Thanks guys, simple simple. I am a huge fan of the camera and am a real believer in the future of tapeless its just a bit daunting at time as i have the fear of losing footage or frying things now introduced into the equation. I stumbled upon a few threads where people were having major issues with not being able to transfer footage etc or footage just disappearing and came close to passing out but hopefully a rigid and methodical approach to all components of offloading work will be the key to avoiding mishaps.

I tested grass valleys Rev drive as an option to dump "camera original" footage to just as a back up to the back up to the back up. You guys have any other fancy or proven work flows that have worked for you?
