P2 Car Reader Question.

I hope this isn't a noob question, but with the P2 drive that allows you to injest 5 cards at once being like $2k, why wouldn't something like this work? If you can use a PCMCIA slot on you laptop to injest your footage to your cpmputer, why can't you buy a cheap external PCMCIA card reader and connect it to your laptop vieo USB? Like the one linked below?

This has been covered here numerous times. I wish it were that simple but it will not work due to the proprietary technology built into the brilliant P2 card. Go ahead and do a search you will find a lot of info on the subject.
