P2 and hard drives

When I copy the contents of my P2 cards from the camera to my Mac via firewire to make backups I have noticed that all the important files in the MXF file structure are locked by default.

Does anyone know a way to prevent this from occurring or an easy way to unlock them all rather than having to go to each individual file or groups of file to unlock them so they can be deleted after being backed up to tape.

You could get P2Genie and never have to worry about any of that.

When you empty the trash, hold down the optoin key, it bypasses all that and just empties.

Yes, the FS-100 is pretty much just a really big P2 card. I use one all the time.
