P2 and Apple

Taking advantage of BH's deal, I got the P2 but how do I Get the info off of the card and on to my Apple G5. I also have 2.5gig of ram is that enough?

Connect your camera to your Mac via Firewire (check your manual - camera needs to be in PC/Dub mode).

Assume you're using FCP - under the Import menu, choose Panasonic P2. A window will open displaying all cards in your camera, and the thumbnails of footage on each card. Import and smile.

FCP can't work with the raw data - it needs to convert it to Quicktime (no quality loss, don't sweat). In so doing, it will copy .mov files into your capture scratch.

And 2G of ram will be fine for most stuff. Might get hairy once you start getting into grading and more intensive post stuff.
