[FS: Optics] Own the Toughest Sigma 18-35 in History*

The time has come.

With no convincing reason to hold on to my Nikon glass, I'm grudgingly letting go of the single most legendary lens I have ever worked with.

On the surface, it's a plain old semi-ubiquitous Sigma 18-35 f1.8 Art [numberletterythings] in Nikon mount, with a followfocusgears.com follow focus gear (imagine that).

Behind its common, dinged, slightly weathered appearance, may be the single toughest lens in filmmaking history.

I drove over this lens. With my car. I shot a project with it immediately afterwards. I sent it into Sigma to have it checked over, and it was fine. They cleaned it inside and out and sent it back.

It took a dive off a camera cart onto rough pavement in the early stages of a factory job. A Shogun 7 was mostly killed. As for the Sigma, the lens hood broke and the filter thread was dinged, but it finished the shoot. It filmed the Attorney General of the US the very next day.

This lens has soldiered through ice storms, hoarder houses, rap battles, car crash tests, blasting zones, BSL-4 labs, and even Congress. AF works, iris works, focuses smoothly, and filters still thread on.

In the coming months, you will need this lens. Plague. Riots. Blizzards. Fear. Loathing. Las Vegas. It's all coming. This lens will survive even the most mostly peaceful conditions imaginable, and keep creating razor-sharp images.

Buy it and its natural companion lens, the Sigma 50-150 f2.8 (also Nikon mount), $900 shipped for the pair, and I'll throw in a Metabones Speedbooster (Nik-M43) for free (or reduce your price if you have no need for m43 mount). Open to offers otherwise.

Do it. You need this.
