overly dark dvx films??

how come most, if not all, of the movies in the grabs section of this forum-- filmed with the dvx100-- are dark... way more so than anything you would ever see on TV... almost as if they are filming with absolutely no light indoors, but these people seem more professional than that so i doubt that's the case.

does the dvx have problems with bright shooting, or do most people just not realize when they're filming that their short film looks incredibly dark (and i'm talking about in scenes where by no means should there be this much darkness and shadows)...

why not ask the people whos shorts you are reffering to directly in the thread containing their short? it sounds ike it may be an issue with your display.. computor monitors are generally always darker than Tvs to begins with though.

Part of it is most likely your monitor and generally people tend to underexpose a bit to get the most information they can without blowing out the highlights.

makes sense, thank you...

but doesn't it bother anyone else when they're watching a needlessly dark scene?
