Overhead Boom mic for interviews

Can someone recommend an overhead boom mic for sit down interviews etc...Something that has a nice full, fat sound (not thin) and is under a $1000 price range.

Thank you !

I have that one. It sounds okay to me, doesnt blow me away. What i might recommend after seeing two pro sound guys on shoots with them, and keep in mind these are guys with access to schoeps etc, is the oktava mk012. Its a modular system, comes with 3 capsules (i think). There is some kind of modification everyone recommends you have done that raises the cost to about $500 or $550 (normally its $350 or so). But supposed to be very good for the money. And again, comes with three different capsules.

"Sit down interviews" implies in doors. For this duty I've been using a AT4053B on a boom pole on a c-stand, running the mic into a little MixPre-D and that into the camera. Works a treat and I have been blown away by the sound.

My vote is to stretch the budget a bit and get the Schoeps CMC6 mk41.

It is one of the most-seen mics for sitdowns around these parts, and for good reason.

For under $1k USD, the AT 4053 or Audix M1255B hypercardioid condenser microphones would be my choice .. if a (in good condition) pre-owned Sennheiser MKH50 cannot be found.

Like the 'old' Sennheiser 416, the 8060 is an interference tube (short) shotgun and a very very nice mic for sure, though I do not have any hands-on experience with it. Generally speaking, an interference tube shotgun mic may not be the best choice in a reflective settings...

Used MKH-50

How does a MKH50p performs for Dialogues Indoors ? Its Super Cardiod polar pattern just like a 416/416T type shotgun mic (correct me if wrong) ?

Also would a good condition MKH416T(12v mic) be a better choice than a new rode NTG3 for dialogues outdoors ?
