Overcrank with the AF100

I am shooting a documentary in HD for TV broadcast and possibly cinema / festival release.
This is the first project I am shooting on the AF100 (actually AF101E) and want to make sure i know the camera well enough before starting principal photography.

I am shooting 1080p25 (im in PAL land, but the film will be shot in S Korea - i already discovered there was quite a lot of banding/flickering here due to the light frequencies here, but got rid of that by shooting on 1/60 shutter speed).

I am quite new to this camera and would like to do some overcrank tests to see what the results are. does anyone have good experience with this and willing to give some advice on the best approach? what settings should i use and how to treat the footage in FCP? I have never 'overcranked' any footage before, so quite new to this. but i've seen some tests online and it looks very nice.

thanks in advance for any help!

it's easy, just turn on vfr, use the dial to set the desired frame rate and shoot. no need to "treat" it in FCP. What shutter speed you should use would vary with the subject matter, but a 180 degree shutter would be a good starting point.d

I find that my AF101 will easily go into VFR mode, without having to have previously selected the 'menu' to VFR. As long as it's in 1080/25p, the rear shutter dial/wheel allows you to toggle VFR on and then use the wheel to adjust the frame rate. Of course, we've all learnt that no audio is recorded in VFR...but then that was explained, along with so many other things in Barry's book, which also summarises the effects that over and under cranking are likely to give to your footage.
