I know several of you have covered this... BUT I'm not certain about DV over component. I thought I read somewhere that you COULD output the timeline from Final Cut via firewire, through the HVX and view it via component out on a monitor, AS LONG as the timeline is in DV. It's clear to me that you can't output HD this way.
If this is right, what could I be doing wrong? I can't seem to make it work. I can view the timeline fine over S-video, but I wanted to get the best color possible for color correction. I'm outputting to one of the new Panasonic pro series HD plasma displays (which gives a gorgeous picture by the way).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
