Output to DV tape from FCP

I'm trying to Edit To Tape from FCP to DV tape on the HVX through firewire with no luck. I've got the camera in VCR mode and it goes into "record" mode but nothing is happening - no signal is apparently being transmitted. :(

Has anyone had any luck with this particular aspect of the HVX? I know this is not what most of you would be using this camera for but any help in this area would be appreciated with regard to settings on the camera, etc. Thanks! :)

I should add that I'm not downconverting - original shot with DV tape if that helps.

I know you can do this with HDV because I have done exactly this on several occassions back to an FX1. Don't see why its not possible.
