output from 24p project in xpress pro - help!

I've just learned that it is not possible to do a digital cut from Avid Xpress Pro if you're working in 24p. So -- how can you output a 24p cut from Avid Xpress pro? Is it altogether impossible? Maybe I need to do an EDL and conform with another Avid program.....? I'm running xpress pro on a G4 laptop and working with footage I shot in 24p advanced on a DVX100.

If you captured your footage in a 23.976 project with advanced pulldown removal, then you can use Avid Xpress Pro HD to output that project to tape ($50 upgrade if you're on Xpress Pro 4.6 or lower). If you don't want to upgrade then you can export a QT Ref. file and reimport it into a 30i project and cut to tape that way. The Xpress Pro HD route will be more accurate.

On Xpress Pro 4.6 and lower a Mojo was required to send 23.976 to tape. If you have access to a Mojo, then that would be a viable optiont too.

I just noticed that you're on a Mac. Meaning that there is no Avid Xpress Pro HD released yet. Sorry about that. I hope I didn't get your hopes up. Mojo is the prefered way to handle this. Import and export of QT will be a workaround.

i had to go the disk route, as mojo was too expensive for me. i export it to either toast or iDVD via quicktime. as krestofire mentioned, there is no digital cut without mojo.
