outdoors?

Hi guys

I'm looking to buy a new camera for my current production set in 18th century Ireland. Most of the film (90%) will be shot entirely on location and as you know the weather is a cruel force!

I was just wondering, what would be the best package for this type of shoot? I need a real workhorse of a camera that can withstand the elements, and the second a good mic for capturing ontop of windy hills :undecided, they say wind shields work but to what extent? Is the DVX my best choice?

My budget is about £2000 for the cam and £200-£300 for the mic

with 2000 euros witch is about 2,500 or so US.
you can find either a crazy good deal with a dvx100b (with mic) or you can go for either a hvx200 or hmc150 with few accesories.
(all used of coarse)

and for the mic, look around audio technica for a shot gun mic.

I'm a little worried about going HD, just as I've filmed with several cameras in the format and when you get a drop-boy do you get a drop! Is the HVX or HMC150 SD mode comparable to the DVX (low light is an issue) hence the DVX choice
