Outdoor Shoot Caution

I am doing a shoot next weekend up in the Big Sur,CA area. My camera is about 7 months old, but I have yet to take it on any outdoor shoots especially one that is so far from me. I am in Los Angeles. I was wondering what are some of the precautions of shooting in an outdoor forest-y type location for about 4 days. I am particulary worried about dust getting into the camera.

Am I overreacting? Should I purchase a rain cover for the camera? Any thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you're not under any rough weather conditions, it'll be just fine. If you are really worried about it, get a rain cover. Couldn't hurt.

Just look at all the skateboard and ski/snowboard filmmakers... those can be rough conditions, and peolple do it all the time with no effect to the camera (as long as they're careful, that is).

Thanks. The forecast calls for it to be pretty pleasant in the high 70's during the day to the low 60's during the evening. I was told though, it does get a "little dusty"

I would hate for dust to get into the heads. But it sounds as if lots of people have gotten away without anything bad in worse conditions.
