Out of the box, scene file 1

I definatley think I'm seeing lots of noise on my iMac. I'm aware of the previous thread but was unclear about the out come of the issue.

No noise here on my laptop, looks good. What gamma?

Not sure if 60i is a factor in this. Were you testing to see how 60i looks?

I dont think thats overly noisy.

The natural lighting is not helping. I think some of the shots might be 1/2 stop over exposed for the black levels

Did you Black Balance the camera?

BTW: One way to check for noise is in the waveform where you can see it as movement in an otherwise still image.

Weird.

Original .mov files looks noisy as hell on the Imac. Most of my work is done for coporate clients online etc...so Im not tripping out.
Just was surprised to see it, especially using the Voight 0.95.

Thanks for the eyeballs :)

Are you looking at it in VLC or Quicktime Pro?
If so, you will see noise due to how it plays the footage. Essentially they take shortcuts, and with those shortcuts, the image is shown poorly. Try watching it in quicktime 7.

Interesting. I actually will double click from the desktop Icon. Not sure what the default player is. I will check. thank you.

Excuse me, I meant QuickTime Player and Quicktime Player 7.
Quicktime Player 7 being the better one.

I've attached a picture so you may see the icon differences.

Clean to me as well.

Such a strange thing: before we get the camera we saw all that noise and now...? What happened?

Maybe it was a pre-production camera issue.

I did a test last night where I shot just oven burners at night. It was really black in the room except for the blue burners and the blacks were really clean. No noise issue at all (at 1600ISO) other than just the smallest totally acceptable grain.
